VBT# Scarlett Undercover - Jennifer Latham

Review: Scarlett Undercover - Jennifer Latham - May 2015

Were you like me a fan of the tv show Veronica Mars ? Or Loved Nancy Drew and Harriet the Spy books ? If, so then Scarlett Undercover is the read for you as we meet Scarlett who is a teen detective and alongside her cop friend Emmett , she helps to solve crimes for those clients who can't exactly go to the police without looking much like a fool. Driven to solving crime after her father was killed , Scarlett has started up a nice little business. In Scarlett Undercover , she is hired by Gemma Archer - a nine year old girl who is worried about her brother and believes that he played a part in the murder of a family friend after his death had been ruled a suicide by police. As Scarlett, heads deeper into this case and more danger follows , she discovers not only the truth of what has happened but also that this case has to do with her father's murder and is connected to her family geneology  which was passed through as a bedtime story from her father. Read as Scarlett is thrust into a world of magic, jinns and muslim culture and that she has been born into something much bigger than your usual teen solving detective.
Scarlett Undercover was a fun story and quite fast-paced and I look forward to seeing what else Jennifer brings along to the writing world and fingers-crossed that somewhere in the mix might be the possibility of more adventures featuring Scarlett.
