When he hears that the radio station he loves might be going under, he offers the station owner some money to keep it afloat and creates an extra scholarship spot for a journalism intern - this is exactly what Skye needs to stay in school - but can she do radio journalism as her specialty is print journalism? With her love of music and journalism, this might just be the perfect spot for her and who knows can she fall in love and vice versa with a sexy musician named Dante? Like most New Adult romances, this one talks about trauma, abuse, estranged family ties, and suicide.  Reading this book, I felt this quote summed up The Sound of Us by Sarah Castille perfectly "Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest: heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul". If you love edgy New Adult Romance and creating the perfect music playlist for all situations then you will love Sarah Castille's The Sound of Us - Book #1 in the Havencrest Series.

  Review: Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas - October 2016 As soon as I read Bully by Penelope Douglas, I was in love with this author. So when she released a new one who had my favorite theme of penpals and that whole friend to lovers going on, I knew I had to read it. The book started out with a bit of background where we learned about how Misha and Ryen were placed together in a classroom project penpal program. The pair continues to write to each other right through the year, and then they take it to the next level and continue through the rest of their schooling. Fast forward to high school Misha is in a band and Ryen is out with her friends and they complete a scavenger hunt form. Ryen is not what Misha expected especially from her letters.
