Review: Raven - Book #2.5 Delirium Series - Lauren Oliver - March 2013

What does one do when they want to read, but everything they try is just not grabbing them? They go exploring for something to hit the spot this morning after a series of failed DNFs. I was desperate for something and by then I just wanted a quick read too. Something to fill my reading spot and so scrolling through my Kindle, I came across a short story by Lauren Oliver called Raven. This was one of the short story spin-offs from her series Delirium. This brought back memories as I read Delirium when it was first released and loved it as the world of YA reading back then was all about the "Dystopian worlds". In this book, we meet Raven and Tack who are part of the Wilds - the ones helping Lena who was the main character of Delirium. The Wilds are the ones who haven't conformed to the world ideology, the ones who haven't been brainwashed into thinking that Love is a disease or a form of Deliria. In Raven, we read as she and Tack reflect not only on how they met and how Tack came to save Blue but also on the scene where Raven and Tack help Lena break Julian Fineman out of the hospital where they are planning to execute him.

This was a quick read and a perfect companion story for those who read and loved the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver if you are a tween and teen who hasn't embraced the Dystopian world yet, then this is a book that you all need to dig out of those archives as it is coming up in that now past Ten-Year mark and give a read.
