Review: Lying about Last Summer - Sue Wallman

Review: Lying about Last Summer - Sue Wallman- May 2016

I had seen a posting on Instagram for one of this author's books and so I decided to head to the Libby library app and see what books were available the first one I grabbed was Lying About Last Summer by Sue Wallman. This book starts with two sisters Skye and her older sister Luisa. Luisa has been home with her boyfriend Nico, they fought and now another guy has come over. Luisa sends Skye away to protect her, but what will happen when Luisa ends up dead? Skye freezes and now her big sister is gone. The book then jumps to a new summer and it's been a year since Luisa died. Skye has been signed up for a Yellows Camp which helps other bereaved teens who have lost someone close to them. What happens though when Skye logs in to the private chat that she shared with her sister and starts receiving messages from her dead sister? Is it her sister or is someone messing with her? Also at the camp, we have creepy Joe who I do wish we could have seen a bit more of his storyline and his real connection to Kyra as he seemed a bit off right through the novel which Skye jumps onto pretty quickly. Can Skye save her new friend Faye from the same death as Joe's previous girlfriend? Find out in this great YA Thriller about death, grief, and moving on and I look forward to reading Sue Wallman's other titles.
