Review: Fumbled - Book #2 Playbook Series - Alexa Martin - April 2019

Going through this series, I have finally caught up, and yes, like most books I have read and reviewed on The Phantom Paragrapher - I read it out of order LOL :P. In Book #3 which I read first, I fell in love with the girl power of Brynn and Poppy. In Fumbled, we have Poppy Parkes and her story of disappointment, second chances, disappointment, and then eventually a HEA. When Poppy who is black was sixteen, she fell pregnant with her high school boyfriend's baby and ended up living with her Aunt as her own family turned their back on her and disowned it, even the Dad's family wanted nothing to do with her. Now 10 years later, Poppy is a single mother to Ace who has inherited his father's athletic ability and personality - he is his father through and through. She is also working as a waitress at the Emerald Bar - an R18 club. One night Poppy is working the VIP section when some of the Denver Mustangs Football players walk in. Imagine Poppy's surprise when she sees TK Moore - her old high-school boyfriend and Ace's Dad. For TK Moore - Poppy is the girl who vanished without reason and someone who cut off all contact with him. As the book goes along, we read as TK and Poppy discuss the past and TK seems to embrace Ace and the family is happy that is until TK not only gets Poppy fired from her job but also, he ends up hurt in a football match. Poppy can't handle it and the pair go their separate ways. Now that Poppy needs a new job and HERS has an opening - we meet Brynn and thus begins the amazing friendship of these two which is good timing as Bryn's friend Marlee has moved to New York. Can TK win back Poppy and Ace or will he continue to "fumble" through the relationship? Find out in this amazing read by Alexa Martin.
