Review: My Twist of Fortune - Book #0.5 The Greene Family - Piper Rayne - February 2021

One of my favourite family saga authors is the duo known as Piper Rayne. The other thing that I love with their books and different series is they often have a connection to a previous series by her and some of the characters /place’s crossover and work as a great lead-in to a new series. For the Greene Family, this series spins-off from another family - The Baileys. Remember Dori Bailey's best friend Ethel Greene? This is her family, like Dori - Ethel is the Matriarch of the Greene family. Years ago, Marla went to high school in the town and was best friends with two cousins Jeff and Hank Greene. She really should have married Hank but ended up marrying Jeff and moving away to Arizona where Jeff became successful and rich. Unfortunately, though with this came Jeff's many affairs and the last one was the final straw for Marla. She has moved her and her four kids back home to her parent's house while they are away RV'ing around the country. While in town, Marla meets back up with Hank and the pair of them reconnect and the strong sparks are still there. Hank is also a single dad of four as his wife Laurie died five years ago in a freak accident. Though they make each happy, will their children be happy with the relationship especially since technically their children are second cousins as their dad Jeff is Hank's cousin? Find out in this prequel to another amazing series by Piper Rayne that I am excited to get reading and falling in love with another family and just like Lake Starlight has their Buzzwheel Gossip newspaper, this town has a gossip segment on the radio which outs Hank and Marla to the world.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
