Review: The Girl In The Pink Shoes - Stacy Green
Review: The Girl in The Pink Shoes - Book #1 Lucy Kendall Series - Stacy Green - September 2014
Lately, I have been trying to read newer titles and just finding they end up being DNFs as I am not connecting with the story, so I decided to hop onto my Kindle and read an oldie title which was The Girl in the Pink Shoes by Stacy Green. This book is the first in the Lucy Kendall series. Lucy is an ex- DCYFs worker/ social worker who has spent her life helping kids in bad situations, she went to work after her sister was abused and then took her own life. Now years later, she works as a private investigator as well as a vigilante taking matters into her own hands by ridding the world of sexual offenders. That is until her world tips on its axis as this week three things are about to happen - 1) her secret has been discovered as she is being followed by an annoying paramedic who claims to be a sociopath and wants to join forces with her aka Chris Hale, 2) she is being accused of murder by one of the siblings of someone she did kill and 3) a case from her past - the very first one she took has come full circle when a young girl goes missing and the young man who is now an adult ends up being one of the potential suspects and the other brother is now the Detective on the case. I loved how the cases in this story and the cast all ended up being connected one way or another like a spider web as the story spun a past/present timeline. It was a refreshing thriller to read and sink my teeth into. I am now looking forward to going through my Kindle and reading Stacy Green's other titles.
