Review: The Girl in the Photo - Book #2 Jensen Thriller - Heidi Amsinck - July 2022 This thriller drew me in with the title, the book starts with a handful of elderly murders. They all seem random except, for one thing, each crime scene has a photograph of a young girl. The same girl but different scenes. Meanwhile, Jensen is back living in Copenhagen and determined to make a career as a freelance journalist, even if it means running into Detective Henrik - someone who she had this weird relationship with. It felt like they had an affair but some moments felt like all he did was save her from a serial killer. As the book goes on, Henrik and Jensen both discover that the three victims came into money back in 1996. The identity of the girl is finally revealed and how each person played their part. Review: Sweet Valley High - Book #1- Academic All-Star ? - Various Authors - July 2019 Growing up the Sweet Valley High series was one of my favorite series for Paula aged 10-13 years old. The series was amazing, as I enjoyed the TV Series, the books and I even had the board game. Elizabeth Wakefield was also one of my literary icons. The twin was perfect as she had the grades, volunteered, and was a newspaper reporter for the school paper. I so wanted to be her. In Academic All-Star, these three authors have turned the Sweet Valley High series into a graphic novel. This was fun reading as it brought me great flashbacks and memories. Review: If You're Listening - Aimee Shaye - March 2017 This book has now been unpublished for the past two years, but I was busy clearing up my kindle and decided to give it a read. I was in the mood for something quick to read and grabbed this short story collection. I have put this book as YA but it does crossover to the NA audience. This collection is a few short stories of people who are screaming to be heard. The stories all center around topics like depression, alcohol and drugs, and self-harm. It shows readers too that sometimes all people need is someone to take a step back and listen to them, as listening could change someone's life forever. Sometimes it is better to remain quiet and hear someone else talking as that's often what they need to survive at that moment rather than having advice chucked down their future at the initial point.
