Review: The Leaf Reader - Emily Arsenault

Review: The Leaf Reader - Emily Arsenault - June 2017

As a tea drinker myself and someone open-minded, I have always had a fascination with divination, and tea leaf reading always sounded interesting. Reading this book, I also discovered the actual name for Tea Leaf Reading is Tasseomancy. This book caught my attention as it was a YA Thriller. In this book, a popular athlete Angela has gone missing and no one knows where she is and what has happened to her.  Our main character Marnie reads tea leaves for fun as she picked up a book one day and thought to give it a go. She is pretty good and sometimes her predictions are eerie and end up happening IRL. When Angela's best friend Matt comes to Marnie for a reading, she gives him one in the hopes it will give them clues to where she is and if she is still alive. What will happen though when she ends up uncovering another missing person case and this one hits a lot closer to home and is tied in with Angela going missing? Can Marnie discover the truth and find justice or will she end up being caught too deep and end up in harm's way? Find out in this enjoyable YA thriller that will also peak your interest in tea leaf reading as it has done myself.
