Review: Forgive My Fins - Fins Book #1 - Tera Lynn Childs- May 2010
It's been awhile since I've read a mermaid story but when the film Aquamarine was released , I loved it as I watched the film alongside the hit TV Show H2O Just Add Water.  Forgive my Fins follows the tale of Lily who is half-human and half-mermaid but it's her mermaid side that she is keeping a secret. She is also not just any odd mermaid but the princess of their kingdom Thalassinia. When Lily was 13yrs old , her father made the decision to send Lily to live with her aunt in the real world , the world of terrapeds (humans) to experience what life on land was like before having to come home after graduation and resume her life as a Royal and soon to be Queen. Lily also has a secret , she has never been kissed as in the world of mermaids - the first kiss symbolises a bond for eternity and whoever she bonds with will eventually become King by marriage. Lily has her heart set on Brody - the hottest guy in school but when things don't go as planned and she ends up kissing Quince - the annoying bad boy , she ends up bonded to him. Now Lily along with Quince must take a trip home to end the bond , of course now Quince knows Lily's most intimate secret . Can Lily stop the bond from getting closer and is Brody the "one" or will Lily realise that her "one" has been in front of her all this time ?
Who will join Lily in the sequel "Fins are Forever" - Will it be Mr. Popular Brody or Bad Boy and Misunderstood Quince ?
Stay tuned as I read and bring you Book #2 "Fins are Forever".
