All It Takes

Review: All It Takes - Sadie Munro - June 2015

For Star Collins, she knows that life can change in a single moment and that more often than not -the moment life changes is with a single telephone call.  The first moment in her life was when her father died , the second was when she was picked up by child services at the age of nine and put into the foster care system and the final phone call is now at nineteen years old when she is away at college - her mother has passed away. Now Star must return back to the small hometown she left when she was nine years old and to a house in which she hasn't stepped foot in - during the past ten years. So that you can understand the situation and grasp an idea about Star's mothers house was that she was a hoarder - think worst case scenario hoarders and then times that by 10 or even 100 and you have Star's mum and she had a whole house and backyard to hoard stuff. After reading this book as I am a tiny hoarder - not bad but it has made me want to go through my room and get rid of a whole load of stuff that I don't need anymore. During this book Star meets Ash - he has just been released from prison for a terrible drunken mistake years ago , but of course small towns talk and he isn't going to be easily forgiven or welcomed back to town. Needing a job and Star spots him , she offers him a job helping her clean and clear out her mother's house. The pair start working together and we see sparks fly, but what will happen when the time comes for the pair of them to go their own way as Star needs to head back to College and Ash can't leave town due to his being on parole ? Was this just a holiday fling for the both of them or will they work a way to be together as they start to bond with each other ?
Find out in "All it Takes"  by Sadie Munro where for anything great to happen in life sometimes "all it takes" is a little push in the right direction and some courage to stand out from the crowd.
