Review: When In Rome - Book #1 When in Rome Series - Sarah Adams - September 2022

I have had this book sitting on my bookshelf for a while and when I saw an Instagram buddy read come up, it was the perfect chance to finally get to it and read the book. This is the perfect read for Audrey Hepburn fans as it is loosely based on her movie Roman Holiday. In When In Rome, we have a burnt-out pop star Rae Rose who just wants to be herself - plain old Amelia again as she has found herself being what the world wants and losing herself. We also see her drifting away from her mother who we are about to see as her manager controlling the puppet strings, this is part of the celebrity world that's the most difficult as who can you trust to be your manager as soon the line can blur to being because they care and love you to be all about the pay cheque. Amelia wakes up one morning and just drives, she travels to a small town called Rome, Kentucky, and decides to be the star of her own "Roman Holiday" where she meets a local Noah who runs his grandmother's pie shop.  Amelia spends some time in Rome, Kentucky just being a normal girl and being amongst people who love her for her, not because of her fame and riches. What will happen though when it's time to return to her "real life" as a pop star and go on tour? Will her time in Rome, Kentucky just become a fleeting time in her life or will she take part of it with her forever? Find out in this great romantic love story about finding and rediscovering yourself and what matters in this life once everything has been stripped away as they say When In Rome, do what the Romans do and in this case, they bake pies.
