Review: Never Have I Ever - SL Scott - August 2024

Poppy attended with her best friends a concert performed by the band Dead Faris and had an amazing time and then an even more amazing night as she ended up having a romantic evening with the lead singer Laird Faris. The pair instantly clicked and before their time was up, Laird realized that he had never felt this way about anyone before he knew it was a whim but wanted to spend the rest of his life with Poppy. He told her to take some time to think about it and if she was ready then to meet him the next morning at the diner at 8 am. The next day comes and sadly Poppy doesn't show. The book then jumps two years and we discover the true reason why Poppy didn't show, but of course that doesn't make it easier for Laird as he is living his life as hard as the day Poppy didn't show - his heart was broken and he vowed never to let another woman make him feel this way. Now two years later, people believe he needs to move on and get his head on straight as enough of the wallowing and self-pity. He heads to the cabin for a holiday away and unbeknownst to him, the personal chef they have hired is none other than Poppy - the girl who broke him into tiny pieces.  Something strange is happening though as Poppy is acting like she has no idea who he is, how can this be? The book then jumps to Laird feeling like an arse towards Poppy, but then once he realizes the truth, he changes his tune to win back the love of his life. What happens though when Poppy remembers the truth about the two of them? Will she feel relieved or betrayed? Find out in this rockstar x chef romance of "Never Have I Ever" read such an awesome book by SL Scott.
