Review: Girl Taken - Blake Pierce
Review: Girl Taken - Book #2 Ella Dark Mystery - Blake Pierce - June 2021
Ella Dark is an upcoming FBI
agent at 29 years old. She is great at her job as a profiler due to her eidetic
memory and extensive knowledge of serial killers. The problem though is that
she is a bit too gungho and can ignore some of the rules put in place as she
wants to rush out for the thrill and action of putting a serial killer behind
bars. In Book #2 Ella has been paired with Agent Mia who has been around for a
long time and knows just what it's like to work in what was once a male-dominated
field. The pair are sent to Seattle after a few bodies turn up and the police
are stumped to find a connection. It is soon discovered that the killer and
victims are all related to the indie art world that is Seattle hipsters - the
freaks and the weirdos. When the pair get close to the killer and think they
have him, danger strikes again with another murder. Have they got the right
person or is there a copycat at play? Did their killer have a partner? What
will happen when Ella takes things into her own hands to pretend to be bait?
Will her partner Mia end up paying the price for her mistakes? Book #2 Girl
Taken also finishes on a small cliffhanger which sets the tone for future
books, when a killer that was once just interested in Mia - takes a shine to
Ella. Girl Taken was a great read and even better, a lot of Blake Pierce's
books are freebies on Amazon - so it's easy to get an insight into his writing
and end up hooked. Girl Taken delivers an intense, gripping thriller with
an intriguing cliffhanger that leaves readers eager for the next installment in
Ella and Mia's high-stakes investigation.
