Review: Promise Not to Tell - Jennifer McMahon

Review: Promise not to tell - Jennifer McMahon - April 2007

Do you like reading psychological fiction ? Love reading thrillers ? One of my favourite authors for targeting this type of genre is Jennifer McMahon. As all her characters go through a tragic incident and then another one of the characters will have developed an illness. In Promise not to tell , we meet Kate Cypher who is now forty-one years old and has returned home to her small hometown in order to help nurse her mother who has developed Alzheimer's Disease. Horror tales of a killer come back for revenge known as The Potato Girl has plagued the town and now someone is killing young girls once again.  Thirty years ago, Kate's best friend Del was murdered - she was who the kids teased and called The Potato Girl and her murder went unsolved as they never found the killer. Has someone ventured back into town , now that Kate is back to get revenge for Del's murder or has the killer returned to finish what he started ?
Promise Not to Tell was a fast paced novel that will keep readers intrigued from the very first page , the other thing to keep aware of when reading this novel is that it flips between the incident with Del in the 1970's to the present time in 2000's.
This is a must read for all those who love their psychological thrillers.
