Continuing through the Cocky Hero Club world series, we have Nikki Ash's Clutch Player. This one I enjoyed as it was set within the world of British Bedmate which is one of my favorite books by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. The book starts with sixteen-year-olds Harper and Landon. They have mutual friends as Landon is on the same baseball team as Harper's boyfriend Richie. As the book goes along, we read as Richie and Harper break up and Harper starts to date Landon, and the pair have this instant sizzling romance. However, one night will change it all as Landon's baseball career takes off and Harper ends up at a party and drugged. This causes her to end up having a one night stand with her ex-boyfriend Richie which leads to a pregnancy. The novel then jumps 12 years into the future and Harper is now a single mother of two children - a boy and a girl - both Richie's children. Harper is also now best friends with Bridget and Simon from British Bedmate. It is summer break and Harper's son Hunter is at Baseball Camp with Bridget's son. One of the coaches turns out to be Landon Maxwell. During the book, we read as Bridget and Simon make a bet to find the perfect blind date for Harper. Simon ends up winning of course as he picks Landon. Imagine Landon's surprise when the female turns out to be none other than Harper.  Will this be the second chance that Harper and Landon need for happiness or will Harper's ex Richie try to ruin it again for the both of them.  Find out in this second chance romance by Nikki Ash - Clutch Player in the Cocky Hero Club.
