Review: 1st Shock - Misty Evans and Adriana Giordano
Review: 1st Shock - Book #1 A Shock Sisters Mystery - Misty Evans and Adriana Giordano - September 2019
I have found this year for me
has been the year of reading mysteries and thrillers. The other thing I have
been trying to do for 2023 is to clear my Kindle of my older reads and this
week, one of those reads was 1st Shock. I haven't read anything of these authors
before, but this was a fun read and in ways reminded me of a cross between
Bones with Temperance Brennan and TV shows like Criminal Minds with the
profiling and then Rizzoli and Isles as the dynamic between the sisters
reminded me of Jane and Maura. In 1st Shock we are introduced to the characters
Meg Shock who is a forensic sculptor and an empath Charlie Shock who used to
work for the FBI as a profiler and Matt who is their investigator and hands-on
guy, we also have Haley - their receptionist who is studying Criminology. JJ
who is an FBI agent has brought the girls a case, as he needs some help
identifying a few skulls. This leads Charlie to Mickey - a serial killer, she
helped put away five years ago. The thing is though that this latest victim is
too fresh to have been killed by Mickey but it matches his MO perfectly. Have
the girls got a copycat on their hands? Can they solve the crime before one of
them finds themselves right in the crosshairs of the serial killer? Find out in
the first book of this great forensic crime/thriller 1st Shock by Misty Evans
and Adriana Giordano. I am excited to now read Book #2 as the preview at the
end of this book, made it exciting.
