Review: I Told You This Would Happen - Elaine Murphy
After
reading Book #1 Look What You Made Me Do and enjoying it, I decided to move on to
the sequel. In Book #2, we meet Carrie Lawrence who managed to survive the
Footloose killer, then she killed Fiona herself after Fiona tried to blackmail
her, and then on top of that, her sister Becca is missing and presumed dead.
Carrie does want to move on but she can't until she finds Becca's body and
knows for certain she is dead she wishes that Detective Greaves would leave her
alone but everywhere she turns, there he is. The book starts with Carrie being
invited to a true crime group meet-up where she meets Nik - the guy Becca told
her was a wife-beater. His wife Lily is also missing, but Carrie believes he
killed her. As the book goes along, Carrie reads about three hit and run's in
the newspaper and since this was her sister's MO, she is convinced Becca is
alive. When Becca does finally pop up, it looks like someone has finally
discovered her secret, and if the pair aren't careful - then they both once and
for all be looking at spending life sentences behind bars. Can the Lawrence
sisters find out who knows their secrets and is trying to point the cops in
their direction and stay one step ahead of them? Find out in Book #2 - I Told
You This Would Happen by Elaine Murphy. Though this book is a thriller, it does
despite not having any actual comedy parts felt more like a Black Comedy
Thriller than full-on psychological thriller status.
