Review: Once Upon A Broken Heart - Book #1 Once Upon a Broken Heart Series - Stephanie Garber - September 2021

I don't often tend to read fantasy books, but this one ended up surprising me with how good it was. This was also one of the books that I had sitting on my bookshelf as a gift from @she.readss.xo on Instagram. It was such a light fantasy but very easy to read as it flowed and I have now added the next two books in the series as well as the three prequels to my list to read. The book starts with us meeting Evangeline Fox who has gone searching for the Prince of the Fates as her secret boyfriend Luc ghosted her and is now getting married that very day to her stepsister Marisol. Evangeline knows he must have been cursed but she can't find proof. She meets Jacks - our Prince of Hearts aka one of the Fates. He will help her discover her true love on the basis that he can get her to kiss three others. The book then follows her journey across to the land of the North where she will fall in love with the Prince, but alas what you can think as happiness doesn't always last and Evangeline will soon learn she is destined for greater things than she ever realised. If you love light YA fantasy with a hint of romance, then Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber is the read for you. I am now looking forward to reading the rest of the series by this author.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
