I often find for myself that Lisa Jewell is a hit/miss author and so when I saw this one was on offer as part of the Book Box subscription over at The Book Shoppe. I knew I would give it a read as it even sounded intriguing with the idea of meeting someone who shares not only the same birth date as yourself but also someone who was born on the same date and at the same hospital. On the evening of Josie's 45th birthday, she and her husband Walter went out for dinner. At the restaurant was famous podcaster Alix who was also celebrating her 45th birthday with family and friends. The pair meet in the toilet and wish each other a happy birthday and call themselves birthday twins. The next few days, this gets Alix thinking of a new podcast idea and when Josie and Alix spot each other - Josie presents an idea to Alix about telling her story as she leads up to a big change in her life- now that she has turned 45. Alix agrees and the two of them start spending time together as Josie tells her story. As Alix delves into though, nothing is as it seems since Josie and Walter were  14 and 42 when they met, one of Josie's daughters left home at 16 and hasn't been since and the other is a shut-in. As the book goes on and Josie tells her story, we see another side but slowly the truth seeps out and now Alix if she wants to keep her family together must be able to separate fact from fiction, more so when Josie becomes intertwined in her life and spending time with Alix's family and children. I finished this book and I still have to say it was a bit of a yucky read for me in parts and I still am not 100% sure whether it would be one that I would recommend as I also felt it was a weird odd read. Therefore I am giving it the 3-star treatment. I think if you are a Lisa Jewell fan, then you will enjoy, but if you aren't then I suggest giving it a miss.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
