Review: Fortune and Glory : Tantalizing Twenty-Seven - Book #27 Stephanie Plum Series - Janet Evanovich - November 2020

As someone who has read the Stephanie Plum books from the very first book and up-to-date with the series, it made sense that I would read the new book which is now Number #27 in the series. Fortune and Glory follow on from the storyline that was in Number #26 with Grandma Mazur being left the keys to the mysterious treasure after her husband for not even a week died of a heart attack and left everything to her. Though some of the others in his "recliner club" aren't very happy and want those keys and the treasure and are even willing to kill for it and so of course like the previous books in the series we have Grandma Mazur and Stephanie trying to dodge death, more blown-up cars from Ranger and Lula's adventures. In Book #27 Stephanie has ended up with another hanger-on after she saved his life, a bit like how Lula became part of her crowd. We also read that Stephanie and Joe Morelli are on the outs and it looks like there is a new female bounty hunter in Trenton who has her eyes set on Joe Morelli and seems to be getting in Stephanie's way as everywhere she turns - there she is. Is she trying to steal everything in Stephanie's life? As Stephanie and Joe are on the outs, this book was very much a Stephanie/Ranger romance novel. Once again as I finish this book, it does seem a bit of a few recycled moments and I wonder how long this series has left and please can we finally have Stephanie make up her mind of whom she loves.
