The River Girls (Mercy Harbor Thriller, #1)

Review: The River Girls - Book #1 Mercy Harbor Thriller - Melinda Woodhall - November 2018

As a fan of mysteries, I am always on the lookout for new authors and stumbled across Melinda Woodhall and her book #1 The River Girls. I enjoyed reading this and it reminded me of authors like Kendra Elliot, Melinda Leigh, and Rita Herron who are a few of my favorite female writers. In The River Girls, we are immediately thrown into the action with a murder scene of a young girl and then the book kicks over to Eden who is one of our main female characters. She runs a series of women shelters which she calls "Mercy Homes" named after her sister Mercy who was killed through domestic violence. As she is about to leave a young girl Star asks for protection, however by the time Eden comes back with help - the girl has disappeared. Eden heads to the police station to file a missing report and while there meets Leo who is also here to file a missing report on Jess - his client's daughter. As the story goes along and girls are washing up, Eden and Leo will pair up to help find Star and the other girls before anymore turn up washed up as they both have experience with the police force not helping and doing their best and have lost people due to lack of police involvement. Can Eden and Leo find the killers before more girls turn up especially when Eden's niece Hope ends up one of those missing girls? Find out in The River Girls by Melinda Woodhall. A great start to an awesome series, which I will be continuing with, and a new author I will be adding to my list to keep an eye out.
