Review: One Step Too Far - Lisa Gardner

One Step Too Far (Frankie Elkin, #2)

Review: One Step Too Far - Book #2 Frankie Elkins - Lisa Gardner - January 2022

I haven't read Lisa Gardner for a while, but she is one of those authors whom I have always enjoyed. Her thrillers are always easy to read and keep my interest. In this new series, we meet Frankie Elkins who decides to dedicate her life to finding missing people and helping families reach closure, even if sometimes it isn't the most positive of news as often those missing people turn up as dead bodies.  Frankie has recently heard a story about a friend who disappeared on his stag do which was a men's night out camping. Five friends went into the bush and only four came out. Each year, the four get together along with their friend's dad to search for Tim, to get closure. In the fifth year, the friends have had enough as it's time to move on - the guilt of what happened that night before Tim went missing is eating them up and they don't know how long they can keep this facade up. It's time for them to get on with their lives and accept that Tim isn't coming back. Tim's mum is dying and Frankie is moved by this story, she rocks up to help. However, as the team is out searching along with the deputy - strange things happen and it looks like someone is certain, they don't want the truth to ever be revealed and will do everything in their power - even kill if they have to.  One Step Too Far was another great book by Lisa Gardner and I now am interested to read the first book in Frankie's story.
