Review: Fear No Evil - Book #29 Alex Cross - James Patterson - November 2021

A series I have always loved as I have read this since the beginning of time is the Alex Cross Series. I noticed when I read Book #31 that somehow I had missed Books #29 and #30 which I am now rectifying. Fear No Evil takes us on two separate adventures, we have Bree Stone who is Alex's wife taking a job with the Bluestone Group - a private firm and she is headed to Paris to help bring down a billionaire who is also someone who has been abusing his power as a boss and a male and then back in the US we have Alex and John who are preparing for their camping trip but that ends up postponed as someone is killing agents and branding them as traitors of the US. Alex and John also end up getting messages again from "M" - and also they discover that someone is pretending to be "M" and making Alex and John targets as they find themselves somehow stuck in the middle of the traitors and the taking down of a drug cartel. Like the other Alex Cross novels, we have an OMG moment as John Sampson ends up in hospital and has to have surgery. We also see a budding detective forming with Ali Cross who does have his spin-off series when he manages to solve the case of vandalism and arson that is happening through South Side Schools. I do have to admit after reading Book #31 earlier and then this one, the series does seem to be having more to do with John Sampson than the previous stories. It's still a good balance, but he seems to finally be getting a stronger storyline presence throughout the book than in the past. I am now looking forward to reading Book #30 Triple Cross.
