Review: Monstrous - Book #1 Monstrous Series - Nicole M. Rubino - January 2024 Have you ever read a book that transports you back to another time when you read books similar and it sparks up happy moments and memories and because of that, you find yourself enjoying a book? That for me was how I felt with Nicole's book "Monstrous" - to be honest, I wasn't sure what I was in for as I read the trigger warnings - I assumed it was darker and more gruesome, but as I got reading it I found myself transported back to the same feelings I had in 2016 when I began my journey to read Jennifer Estep's Mythos Academy series. This book gave me those same vibes with a hint of possibly Wednesday - the new show based on Wednesday Adams. In Monstrous our main character Rhiannon has had some changes happening and discovered that she isn't quite human - she is half-monster. Now she has been thrust into a university designed for monster students to learn to harness their skills a

Review: The Truth about the Devlins - Lisa Scottoline

Review: The Truth about the Devlins - Lisa Scottoline - March 2024 One of my favorite authors and an auto-read is Lisa Scottoline ever over 15 years when I fell in love with one of her earlier titles. I was hooked as I enjoyed her legal thrillers, before reading her books - the only other Legal thrillers I had read was John Grisham, and here was a female author writing just as great or in my opinion even better - sorry John :P. So when I heard she had written a new one, I was excited to read it. This book introduces us to a family called The Devlins who are all lawyers except for TJ who is an investigator. TJ was the one in the family to go off the rails and since he has a criminal record now, this is the only role he can take. He loves it though as he feels he is doing his part to help get justice for those who can't by themselves. When his older brother John gets in a jam, he asks TJ for help and TJ would go to the end of the earth to help him which he does god, I hated John'

Love at First Skate Ellie Hall (Love on Thin Ice) Publication date: October 3rd 2024 Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance, Sports They say love is messy. Turns out friendship is too, especially when you’re stranded in a cabin with your best friend and hearts are on thin ice. Teddy I’ve heard that men and women can’t be friends without it becoming something more. Harlow and I put that theory in the penalty box, thank you very much. She laughs at my jokes, secretly admires my hockey butt, trusts me with her biggest fear (it’s safe with me). In turn, she knows everything about me. Well, almost. There’s been a recent development. I’m gone for her. Down bad. Solid Crush. She lives rent free in my mind. I’ve caught feelings. This wouldn’t be a problem except, you know, the whole shattering our friendship thing. Harlow You know those days you want to erase? It went like this: my boyfriend broke up with me (it was overdue), and then I broke up with my job while at a work

Review: The Ledge - Christian White

Review: The Ledge - Christian White - September 2024 For the past couple of years, I have participated in readalongs for Tandem Collective Global and they are I find hit/miss titles. The Ledge by Christian White, I was looking forward to as I do love my thrillers but at the same time, I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never read any of his titles. Well, what can I say is that everyone needs to read this book as it is amazing. If you also love thrillers that you are surprised with and the twists you don't see coming, then The Ledge is one of those books you immediately need to add to your reading lists. This book starts in the present time with a body being found in the woods and then flashbacks to 1999 where we meet our four friends Aaron, Justin, Chen, and Leeson. They are inseparable and a close brotherhood, so much so that their friendship reminded me of the boys from Stand By Me or the girls from Now and Then movies. The book follows our narrator as he heads back home
