VBT# California Thyme - Casey Dawes

Review: California Thyme - Casey Dawes - April 2014

Growing up in a family of actors and Hollywood status can do two things to a person, it can lead them into that life or they can grow to resent it and everything that it represents.  For Mandy Parker, she took the second option as daughter of actress Lola Parker and actor/director Dane Russell . Hollywood is what tore her family apart and stopped her from seeing her Dad. Now twenty years later Mandy is working as a waitress/chef in a small Californian town and life is plodding along for her as she has just opened her own catering business. Enter James Lubbock, he is a film location scout and has decided to have a film set in Mandy's town. He meets Mandy at the restaurant she works at and they start chatting, Mandy has a defensive wall up as James reminds her too much of the father she hasn't seen since she was five. What happens though when James offers Mandy a deal that could get her catering business off the ground by helping cater for the film set. Will Mandy agree or is her heart that set against anything Hollywood , she will turn down the job?  Could this be the job though that will have Mandy breaking down the walls she has built around her and in doing so, opening her heart to new possibilities and in the same sense getting some closure on old wounds that need healing ?
