Review: Like Gravity - Rachel Leigh
Review: Like Gravity - Book #1 Redwood High Series - Rachel Leigh - 2020
It's Senior year for Blakely
and she has perfected the art of being an ice-cold Queen. Though for her it is
a defense mechanism as she has had years of a hard childhood where her parents
are hardly home and when they are, anyone rarely interacts with one another.
Even Blakely's little brother Talon we read in the book seems to rely heavily
on alcohol to get him through day by day. They are both counting down till
their graduations as that is when their trust funds get released and they can
leave home without having strings tied to their parents. Blakely has only one
friend Knox who has been their right through school and if Knox didn't have a
girlfriend - you would think that there was an attraction but it seems that
this friendship is purely a brother/sister friendship. Enter Jasper - his
father has just moved in with his girlfriend who happens to be Knox's mother
and now he is living next door to Blakely. He also manages to get under
Blakely's skin and shows the readers that under her ice-cold exterior she does
have a heart. What will happen though when things start to show promise and
then we learn that Jasper's one goal - getting revenge on the person who broke
up his family is a lot closer to him than he realizes and that somehow the girl
he is starting to develop feelings for is also involved in her way ? Like
Gravity by Rachel Leigh was a love/hate novel between Blakely and Jasper and
filled to the brim with YA Angst. If you love enemies to lovers and
angsty teen dramas then you will find yourself enjoying Like Gravity by Rachel
Leigh.
