Review: Spellbinder - C.C Hunter

Review: Spellbinder - Book #2.5 Shadow Falls - After Dark - CC Hunter - June 2015

It's competition time for these few budding witches and the prize - the role as the next High Priestess. Up for the competition amongst a couple of others are Miranda Kane and Tabitha Evans. Growing up these girls were the best of friends until a fallout with their mothers caused them to become arch-enemies. Now they are both up for the same prized position. What happens though when crazy things happen to each of them and Miranda/Tabitha blame one another? Then two girls end up murdered and it looks like this runs deeper than petty actions towards one another. Miranda along with her friends Della and Kylie end up on a trip to Paris where the girls will face more danger. Miranda and Tabitha will also learn some dark family secrets and that they are connected more than they thought initially, Della will also learn more about her sibling's murder as we catch a glimpse of Chase. We also read as a love triangle is forming for Miranda between Sean and Perry. I did like the Miranda/Tabitha storyline and had wished we would see more interaction with the mothers especially when Mr. Kane/ Mr. Evans arrives on the scene but it was glossed over.  Overall, it has been a while since I read a book in this series and fantasy, so it was nice for a change and to be reunited with characters I haven't had any interactions with for a long time.
