Review: The Hayley Mysteries - Book #1 - The Haunted Studio - Hayley LeBlanc - July 2022


If you love mysteries, this is the perfect read for girls aged 8-12 years old. Growing up, I loved Nancy Drew, Enid Blyton, and Harriet the Spy books and so this was quite a fun read. The book starts on the set of the TV show Sadie Solves It where our main girl Hayley plays the detective Sadie along with her two best friends. The season has been renewed for a second season and has moved to Hollywood. The cast is anxious to start the new series, but what happens when they are told the story of a ghost named Betty who wanders the stage? When strange things start happening during filming, they put it down to a ghost but ghosts aren't real, are they? Now with their show in the balance, Hayley and her friends are on a journey to solve the mystery of "The Haunted Studio" before their show ends up in the line of another series of cancelled TV shows. The other awesome thing that I loved about this book was that the author is a teenager herself at only 13 years old. I am now looking forward to reading more adventures of Hayley and her friends - the modern Scooby Doo gang.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
