Review : Catharsis - Skyla Dawn Cameron - 2007

Looking at the cover of this story it doesn't seem like much , but just thinking about the girl on the cover it kind of looks a bit like the actor who plays Grace Van Pelt just with short hair on The Mentalist. When I started reading Catharsis , I wasn't quite sure what to expect as from the opening paragraph , I could tell I was in for an exciting read as the setting is her meeting a group of online friends at an old run-down derelict insane asylum.
We then are transported on what becomes a fast-paced read filled with people dying , people having magical powers from telepathy to seeing visions to even developing doppelgangers. The novel is focused on Eve and her friend Rune.
It is a race for their lives as someone isn't very happy with the Supernaturals and aims to kill them one by one.
In places this novel is quite weird and you don't know whether the main character is hallucinating or not and the storyline at times seems like a scene or two from the movie Identity - the one where the main character has about nine multiple personalities and one of them turns out to be a serial killer.
