Review: Clique Bait - Ann Valett - April 2020

Being a reviewer has its perks like getting advanced copies of books just like Clique Bait by Ann Valett which isn't released till April 2020. The upside of this book was that it doesn't end on a cliffhanger which means I don't have to wait a whole year for a sequel as I have in the past with situations like this. Just like Anna Todd was picked up for her story on Wattpad, Ann Valett has too for Clique Bait. This story starts off with Chloe planning to get revenge for her friend Monica who has died tragically before Summer break. Chloe blames the "Level Ones" - the popular crowd for Monica's death and has devised a plan to get revenge and ruin them all as in her mind they have to pay for what they did to Monica and for taking away Chloe's best friend. Unlike Monica, Chloe never really cared about popularity but in order to get an "in" with the Level One's she is going to have to channel Monica and use what Monica taught her over the years. As Chloe gets in with the Level Ones, she starts to discover everything isn't rosy in their world and that they are definitely putting up facades. As Chloe goes along with her plan, can she get them to drop their facades for just a minute so she can expose them for the evil bullies they are and ruin their hierarchy pyramid? During the book Chloe will be opened to the going-on's from secret trysts to sleeping with the teachers. Can Chloe bring down the Level Ones before she finds herself turning into one of them? Will her friend Jack bring her back to earth and ground her?

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
