Review: The Snake in the Grass - Lucy Auburn

The Snake in the Grass (Coleridge Academy Elites #0.5)

Review: The Snake in the Grass - Book #0 Coleridge Academy Elites Series - Lucy Auburn - June 2019
Following on the trend of bullymances comes a book with a twist, The Snake in the Grass is a prequel to the Coleridge Academy Elite series by Lucy Auburn. In this book we meet Brenna whose twin brother Silas has been accepted on scholarship with his violin and grades to the exclusive private school of Coleridge Academy. Brenna is happy for Silas but sad at the same time as it means they won't be together but she knows this is for the best but is it really? Brenna is about to have her heart ripped out as Silas heads to the school for Orientation week and when he returns home he is not the same Silas she knew. There is something off about him, a dark side that sometimes eerily resembles their father - a man that Silas hates. This book does not have a happy ending as something happened during Orientation week at Coleridge and left Silas unhappy and a changed man. This story ends for Silas at a tree called The Hanging Tree. However, for Brenna it's only just beginning as she has found a blog about the Scandals and underworld of Coleridge Academy and has now been passed the reins of the blog to carry it on and become the new person of Legacies - along with this is a place to Coleridge Academy where Brenna plans to attend and get revenge for her brother Silas. Of course readers, we all know after reading plenty of Bullymance novels that Brenna my dear has no idea what she is getting herself into. I am now looking forward to reading the next book The Pawn - Book #1 in the Coleridge Academy Elite series by Lucy Auburn.
