Review: The Lizard who Loves a Blizzard - Shelley Larkin and Michael John Sullivan - Septmber 2021


First off, this book has to have the most gorgeous illustrations that I have seen in such a long time, they were so adorably cute. So well done, Yanaisy Puentes Cruz. In this book the lizard lives in Australia which is close to home, myself being in New Zealand and it is Christmas time and all this little Lizard wants is snow. Which for us in New Zealand and Australia, we celebrate Christmas in Summertime, and even in our Winters we rarely get snow at all. Our little Lizard reminded me a bit of Olaf from Frozen who wanted to be a snowman in Summer and was adorable as he got his own little fluffy. All of Lizard's friends and family laugh at him but he stays true to himself and has the faith and hope that it will snow and he will get his Blizzard for Christmas.  The Lizard who loves a Blizzard is all about those Christmas wishes and having faith and believing in Christmas Magic that they will come true. This book is perfect for children aged between 5-10 years old.

    This book combines two things my boys love. Lizards and snow. Even though they are yet to experience snow.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
