Review: Beautiful Addictions - Mad Men Collection - Season Vining - January 2014 - Re-Released April 2024

I had heard of this author before and I had another of her books on my Kindle called Held Against You, but I was captivated by this cover. Turns out the book was originally published in 2014 but has been re-released with a new amazing cover to die for. The book starts with Josie Banks waking up after doing drugs and then while at home - she spots a young man in her alley. He captivates her as she stares and wonders what is going through his mind as she watches him lose control. Josie ends up tracking the guy to the bar where he works - "stalker much". Turns out the guy aka Tristan actually knows Josie, but she wasn't known as Josie back then and the girl he knew is supposed to be dead as the newspaper recorded. Who is Josie and what is her story? Turns out Josie of course suffered amnesia and doesn't remember her past which is about to get a whole load of difficulty for her as there are some bad hitmen aka mafia wanting her dead - since they messed up the first time around. Can Tristan protect Josie or will he find himself tangled up with the hit as they track him down? I also enjoyed this book and Tristan's character as he has an eidetic memory which is a bit of a gift and a curse I could relate to this as my memory isn't completely eidetic but it is close - especially when it comes to certain memories and books I have read. I am now looking forward to reading the rest of Season's Mad Men Collection including Held Against You. Beautiful Addictions by Season Vining is a great edgy dark romantic suspense read perfect for the New Adult genre where it has its dark moments but in terms of other darker reads it felt cleaner at the same time.
