Review: The Teacher - Freida McFadden
Review: The Teacher - Freida McFaddden - February 2024
Eve and her husband Nate are both teachers at Caseham High, the thing is that they are completely different - Eve is a grumpy Maths teacher with a stick up her ass and Nate is the hot English teacher who is fun and supportive. For Addie, when she was caught up last year in a scandal with a teacher and he got fired, she is hoping this year will be different. The thing is though that the teacher who got fired was Eve's good friend and mentor. When she finds out that Addie is in her husband's class, she gets suspicious and starts acting out towards Addie as a student. Of course, this pushes Addie and Nate closer together and then they have an affair. Turns out that Eve though is just as bad as she has been having an affair with a guy who works at the shoe store she loves. As females we have our vices, mine is books and for Eve - it is shoes. When Addie and Nate get closer and Eve catches them in the act, she threatens Nate and forces him to resign and quit his job as she knows that Addie wasn't the first and she definitely won't be the last. The pair get into a fight and then Eve ends up dead and buried in the forest. Has Nate gotten away with murder as he plans to set up Addie to take the fall? Or will Nate's past come back to haunt him and he end up the one six feet under? This book was a great read and had an OMFG cliffhanger which pushed the rating up for me, but at the same time when it was revealed, I was confused as it's like how earth did, she not know - like seriously, the school wouldn't have been that big etc. Therefore, due to the ending instead of a five, it is getting a four.
