Review: Famous Last Words - Book #1 New York Thunder Series - Shann McPherson - October 2024


Robbie Mason had it all, he was a successful hockey player with thousands of female adoration, that was until he lashed out and broke the nose of one of his teammates, and then his career skyrocketed down and now he is seen as a liability. His signing on with the New York Thunder is on probation as he must follow their rules including staying away from drugs, which of course Robbie has never done but no matter how much he defends himself, he is still painted as the bad boy of Hockey and the only reason he is being kept around is that he is popular with fans and still brings the numbers and money in. Being back in New York, he needs a new place and turns out there is a great apartment available that Fran Keller is trying to sell. Her whole real estate career is riding on this sale if she can't get it then her ex-boyfriend Tad the jerk will get one-up on her and take her job too. However, the stars are about to play a joke on both Robbie and Fran as turns out they went to high school together and weren't just classmates but actual enemies, they were the bane of each other's existence and pulled pranks on each other all the time. In a twist of events, the two end up helping each other and being in a fake romantic relationship which of course they both claim is fake forever once they both get what they want, they will go their separate but of course, we all know that it will be their "Famous Last Words" as a reader, we all know that Fake Romances = Real Romance down the track as lines between fantasy and reality become blurred and real love begins to brew or in this case is a puck to the heart.

  Review: Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas - October 2016 As soon as I read Bully by Penelope Douglas, I was in love with this author. So when she released a new one who had my favorite theme of penpals and that whole friend to lovers going on, I knew I had to read it. The book started out with a bit of background where we learned about how Misha and Ryen were placed together in a classroom project penpal program. The pair continues to write to each other right through the year, and then they take it to the next level and continue through the rest of their schooling.
