Review: Ache - Book #5 Wish Series - Morgan Rice - October 2023

I was looking forward to this one, especially after the cliffhanger of Book #4 but was disappointed with how this one sort of played out. Instead of a happy sisterly reunion between Taylor and Jane, we got one who was happy as the girls are also finally reunited briefly with their father and the other was an angry soul that wanted nothing to do with this family as in her mind she was abandoned. We also see a different side to Taylor's stepmother as in the earlier books, she is rude and abusive towards Taylor but in this book, she welcomes Taylor and Isabella with open arms and assists in helping protect them on their journey to track down Taylor's father. I feel that the only thing that would have been more amazing with this book, is if we had been given glimpses of Taylor's mother. Also by following this book, we learn that it seems Taylor's father was a Vampire which means that the Werewolf side must have come from Taylor's mother. During this book, we also have chapters from the Evil Overlord aka Director of the Bad Guys who wants the blood of the Blood Moon Hybrid and normal Hybrid as they are said to be the last pieces needed to open all six vaults on the islands and help unleash a nasty and powerful demon who has been lying dormant for centuries after his body was cut and hidden into pieces. If this demon were to come into existence, the world that everyone knows would be destroyed.  I am looking forward to the next books as I hope Taylor and now Jane will head back towards the Wilderness Camp with their newfound knowledge and as hybrids help protect the demon from being unleashed and revealed as there are three more books in this series by Morgan Rice. Fans of the Shadow Falls series by CC Hunter will love Morgan Rice's Wish Series.

  Review: Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas - October 2016 As soon as I read Bully by Penelope Douglas, I was in love with this author. So when she released a new one who had my favorite theme of penpals and that whole friend to lovers going on, I knew I had to read it. The book started out with a bit of background where we learned about how Misha and Ryen were placed together in a classroom project penpal program. The pair continues to write to each other right through the year, and then they take it to the next level and continue through the rest of their schooling.
