VBT# Superhero High - T.H Hernandez
Review: Superhero High - T.H Hernandez - July 2018
AR aka Annarenee is part of a superhero family; the thing is though that she is what most in
the superhero world would call a "zero" as though both her parents
have powers and her brother Noah too, she was born with no abilities or
superpowers. For AR, she got the
chance to go to a normal school and have friends,
she was on the swim team, and she was
good at it and on her way to potential scholarship material and college at
Berkley. That was until the government decided to cut the funding on the
classified superhero project and move all families involved to a small
community ex-naval facility in San Diego. Now AR has to up and leave her life
in San Diego and become one of the rejects, the minority in a school filled with
Superheroes. Here AR is going to have to form new dreams and goals as now she
is one of the "freaks and outcasts."
What will happen though when the heroes start to go missing, and AR's brother Noah is amongst the missing? Whereas the superheroes have always
relied on their powers, AR and her newfound gang of zeroes have their brand of
strengths. Can the zeroes and a few friends who
are heroes save the day? In doing so,
will AR realize that in a way she did
have powers - the power of leadership?
Find out in this cutesy YA novel with a bit of suspense
and action - Superhero High by T.H Hernandez. This
book reminded me a little of the movie Sky High which was a school for
Heroes, Sidekicks, and Villans.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review Superhero High and being a part of the tour!
