Review: Forever Red - Book #1 Bama Boys - Carina Adams - April 2015

Clearing out my kindle, I came across Forever Red. I didn't know what it was about as it had been such a long time since I grabbed it. The book starts with Cecelia aka Cece who is a big country-western singer and about to celebrate her 30th Birthday. Her friends have surprised her with a meet and greet with none other than Nate Kelly. Her friends expect her to be excited, but all she feels is ill as they don't know her past life as Lia and when Nate was Neil. The book then flashes back to the day in class when Lia meets newcomer Neil. The pair may have been complete opposites but they just clicked and though Lia was from the wrong side of the tracks, Neil never judged her like everyone else. Forever Red tells their love story during high school from the day they met till the day Lia ended it by disappearing. For Lia, she couldn't wait to get out of the trailer park and so she applied for the furthermost university she could and cut contact with everyone in her community including the boy she loved with all her life. She knew he was destined for big things and felt that she would only hold him back, in her mind she was doing the right thing. Of course, there are always two sides to every story. The book then jumps back to the present and we learn that Nate never stopped loving Lia and she was his "forever girl" and the "Red" in his hit song. Can Nate and Cece forgive and pick up where they left off or are they destined to be star-crossed lovers? Find out in this Country Western Second Chance Love Story by Carina Adams.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost.
