Review: The Reunion - Kayla Olson
Review: The Reunion - Kayla Olson - January 2023
You know those moments when
you want to read, but nothing seems to hit the spot and then all of a sudden
you find a book that does it for you? That's how I felt with Kayla Olson's The Reunion.
It also brought memories of various TV shows I have seen that have done reunion
shows like 90210 Beverley Hills and Punky Brewster which I enjoyed as well as
Girl Meets World. It also made me think of shows I loved when I was younger
that a reunion show would be awesome like Sweet Valley High, Seventh Heaven, or
Step By Step. In this book, it's been twenty years since the hit TV Show Girl
on the Verge aired on television. After the show finished each of the cast went
on to do their own thing also losing touch with one another. For Liv who played
the female lead Honor, she lost her best friend Ransom who played the male lead
Duke. The feelings though now being reunited as strong as ever as we watch the
sparks and chemistry sizzle not only on screen but off screen. With the rise
and pressures of Hollywood, is the power couple ready to brace the public
scrutiny of their relationship- something they weren't ready for twenty years
ago? We also read as Millie who played the youngest sister is now a popular Pop
Star and Sasha-Kate is still our backstabbing jealous female character as they
say some people never change their stripes and spots. The Reunion by Kayla
Olson was not only a fast-paced quick read but one that if you love the behind-the-scenes
of TV shows and Hollywood you will enjoy. Think LA Conrad's Sweet Little
Lies series mixed with Beverley Hills 90210 and you have The Reunion by Kayla
Olson.
