Hidden Lies

Review: Hidden Lies - Book #1 Lost Lake Academy Series - Lydia Reeves - January 2021

After having three DNF's in a row before this book, I was in the mood for something to grab me and I knew that I would enjoy a bully romance as I always love reading them. Hidden Lies introduces us to Camilla Kaplan who is 17 years old and an orphan after her parents are both killed. She has now discovered she has a wealthy aunt Naomi Moretti and has been enrolled into a new school called Lost Lake Academy which her grandfather and great-grandfather attended. Everybody seems to be somebody and wealthy at the school but Camilla is a nobody or is she? Meanwhile, at Lost Lake Academy, Camilla will meet three guys who seem to be loners and mysterious - nobody knows anything really about them, just rumors circulating. They don't normally let anyone into their circle, but soon Camilla finds herself slotting into the world and finds the boys opening up to her. What will happen though when Camilla learns about the dangerous school history and its warring families? Soon Camilla will be thrust into a world that her parents had fought so hard to not have her involved in. Hidden Lies ended on an OMG cliffhanger with one word and now I can't wait till June 2021 for Book #2 to be released. So whenever you find yourself in a reading rut/slump, why not give a bullymance a go as it might pull you out and get you back on track just as it does for me.
