Review: Magnolias Don't Die - AJ Collins
Review: Magnolias Don't Die - Book #2 Oleanders Series - A.J Collins - March 2020
Magnolias Don't Die is set two years
after the first book Oleanders are Poisonous. Lauren has been gone from their
hometown of Wineera for two years now and working as a bartender and living
with her new GBF Snap. She has tried to put the past behind her but it's about
to bite her in the backside when none other than Henry comes into the bar and
of course the day of her birthday. Seeing Henry has Lauren reeling back into
the past and soon old emotions and worries come bubbling back to the surface.
Turns out that Henry has an opportunity for Lauren and this could be the start
of Lauren's dream as a singer. Henry has made a career and a name out of
discovering new artists and writing songs but needs a new partner and who
better have than his childhood friend Lauren. The thing though is Lauren is not
the same girl who left two years ago and has had to harden and put up walls.
What will happen though when she is introduced to a world of drugs and alcohol
which will become her tools to numb the pain and feel alive ? Will her music
career be over before it started ? Will Lauren be ready to face her past when
Henry decides to bring her back home to Wineera? Find out in this edgy YA novel
"Magnolias Don't Die" by AJ Collins. I enjoyed the latter part of this book as
Lauren gets a chance to sing on a cruise ship. I have always wanted to go on a
cruise ship or thought it would be cool to work on a cruise ship in the
bookshop or library as one of my old team leaders did this for her gap year.
