Love + Texting

Review: Love + Texting - Lexi Aidyn - January 2021

This book despite the pink chick-lit cover starts with a chapter that will have you tearing up and it packs a punch as I was reading that first chapter expecting it to be plodding along and Woah, out of the blue - the dreaded door knock. The book then jumps six months down the track and Dani and Nikki are trying to move on with their lives. The book then has Dani texting her brother Colton as she has done for the past six months about her awful blind date - unlike before though. This time Dani's phone beeps and she is staring at a response from Colton. Turns out the phone number Colton had has now been reallocated to our main male character Drew. The pair will then begin a texting friendship and eventually when one of their favorite country-western stars Luke Combs has a concert - the pair meet and it is love at first sight and the pair start a long-distance relationship. What will happen though when Dani realizes that Drew's career is the one career that she vowed never to get involved with - he is in the Marines/ Miltary just as her brother Colton was. Can Drew prove his love to Dani and that no matter what he loves her and will Dani be able to open her heart up to Drew despite the known consequences that he may come home in a body bag? Love +Texting was not only a romantic comedy that tugged at heartstrings and was a cutesy clean romance read. I was amazed at how well the author had done with this book as the words just felt like they were flowing off the page so smoothly and despite being in a rut - I was able to read this book so fast as it just felt like I was floating on air as I read it.
