Dog Girl

Review: Dog Girl - Gabi Justice - November 2020

I have to admit I wasn't 100% sure what this book was but the fact it was a Swoon Romance had me interested. The book started with me a little confused about what was happening as we are faced with Kendall rescuing a dog that has been tied to the rail tracks in the dead of the night. Turns out Kendall's mums run a Dog Shelter and Rescue and Kendall helps with saving dogs. I have to admit I didn't like Kendall as she felt like such an awkward character and I found it hard to connect with her. It's like I get that you are anxious, but seriously do you have to be OTT with it all. One of the rescues ends up going viral and Kendall ends up being plastered over social media and TV and soon her face is out there and she gets stuck with the nickname #DogGirl. Now Kendall is about to be submerged into a world of trolls and mean comments and learn the downside of Social Media. For Kendall who gets anxious anyway, this is her worst nightmare. What will happen though when Kendall and her three friends find a dogfighting ring? Will they be able to save the dogs from being harmed or will this draw more unwanted attention and this time from people worse than your internet trolls? Find out in this Quirky YA romantic suspense by Gabi Justice - Dog Girl. Dog Girl is the perfect read for all those dog lovers out there.
