Cruel Summer (The Summervale Series Book 3)

Review: Cruel Summer - Book #3 Summervale Series - L.L Hunter - September 2021

At first, I was a little confused with this book as it had been a while since I read the book, but as I started and reconnected myself with the characters I got back into the flow and like the others in the Summervale Series, it finished too quickly for my liking and ended on a major cliffhanger. Cruel Summer starts with a group of friends playing truth or dare and our main characters are Stacie and her boyfriend Ashton. Stacie has a dark secret and wants to keep it that way. The book then jumps to the present and her boyfriend Ashton has a gig at the Yacht Club and then they have hired a boat to have a boat party. At the party, two of the guests will end up overboard and one dead and one missing. This is another blow for Summervale as another teen girl is dead and as the story goes along, the book has Darcie and Stacie targets for a possible murder and it also seems that the clock is ticking and the time is running out for Darcie's dad as his murders are coming to the police's attention.  I now can't wait to read the next book in this series. If you love YA mysteries and thrillers, then The Summervale Series is for you.
