Review: Game On - Tempting Twenty-Eight - Janet Evanovich

Where to Start with Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series | Novel Suspects

Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight (Stephanie Plum, #28)

Review: Game On - #Book 28 Stephanie Plum Series - Janet Evanovich - November 2021

This is one series, where you have to admire Janet Evanovich with her stamina to keep going and writing each book, to be honest, I thought after reading 27 and being a little disappointed with it, that I wouldn't enjoy 28 as much but she made this one an action-packed novel with the arrival of Diesel and Wulf. Part of me keeps thinking, how long can she keep this up and when the hell are we getting a finale with Stephanie and Joe Morelli but the other part is still enjoying the various scenarios that Stephanie and her family keep getting into. I liked this one as we saw a bit more interaction between Stephanie's dad and Mother as they open their home as a safe place for two of the "Baked Potatoes" - a hacking group, that Stephanie is trying to protect. In Game On we see Stephanie's main target is a high profile hacker named Oswald Wednesday who loves to torture and keep everyone on their toes, he also loves to blow things up which for Stephanie means this time around- she isn't the only one whose vehicles get blown up as Diesel will lose a motorhome and a motorbike. Diesel and Wulf feature in Game On as their boss "Auntie" has been hired to track down Oswald and so Diesel will pair up with Stephanie and of course, Lula to find Oswald. In Game On, we also have a small part with the handsome Ranger and it also acts as a bit of a prequel to a new series called The Recovery Agent as another bondswoman Gabriella Rosa is mentioned. On the Joe Frontier - the idea of marriage is floating around but it looks like the pair love their casual relationship and no hints of wedding bells shortly. As I finish Book #28, it does make me realize I have been reading this series now for 11 years as I decided at the end of 2011 to make it my goal to read the Stephanie Plum series starting with Book #1, and here I am now 11 years later reading Book #28. I wonder if Janet's lucky number to end this series will be #30? Who Knows? All, I can say is that this was another action-packed, LOL, car-bombing, love triangle Stephanie Plum novel and I look forward to more adventures from this Trenton bounty hunter and her fun-loving sidekicks of Lula and Grandma Mazur.
