Our Little Secret

Review: Our Little Secret - Kiersten Modglin - August 2021

I had heard quite a few good things about this author Kiersten Modglin and so I was interested to read her starting with this mystery that I saw available on KU. In Our Little Secret, we are taken to a small town called Cason Glen where bad things don't normally happen. However, over the past summer, bad things did happen, and everyone has dark little secrets that they don't want to get out. Our Little Secret was such a good fast-paced mystery as it starts with Jude and Michelle Rivera being woken up as their neighbor Stephanie has called to say she saw a car drive off the bridge.  Jude and Michelle are worried as if divers clear the lake, their dark secret could come out. It's not just Jude and Michelle worried as Enzo is scared too. Last Summer, Stephanie's husband Ted went missing and disappeared. Meanwhile, another dead body has turned up and it looks like everything is connected the town of Cason Glen has a dark past and no one in the small town is ready to go down without a fight. I was in two minds about the ending of this story as I did love the characters of Jude, Michelle, and Enzo but freaking hated the characters of Stephanie and her two sons Rafe and Dominic as that whole family had an evil streak as the mum loved to play the victim and the sons were just spoiled freaking jerks and brassed me off.  I am now looking forward to reading other books by this author Kiersten Modglin as she is a new mystery author to add to my reading lists.
