A Hurt So Sweet: Volume Four (Elite of Eden Falls Prep #4)

Review: A Hurt So Sweet - #Volume 4 - Elites of Eden Falls Prep - Betti Rosewood/Isabella Starling - January 2020

Lai is dead and Dexter is accused of murdering his best friend in Eden Falls, meanwhile on a train headed to North Haven is Pandora and her new friend Alli.  Pandora has just discovered she is pregnant with one of the firstborns’ children and on a train to meet her birth mother for the first time. For those who have read the previous series, I keep thinking that is Pandora that stupid like Hello, she was living in Lily-Anna's shadow - shouldn't she have freaking recognized her, and then wouldn't it have been another clue when they rock up to her mum's and the first thing her mother does is hug Lily-Anna calling her - her daughter which of course she has seen her grow up as Emilian sent her photos, etc. When Pandora does meet her mum, we can see her mother is content living in a crazy world as Emilian is paying for it and she has everything she wants. We learn too that she never wanted to be a mother and is prepared to help Pandora lose the baby as she knows it will ruin her life.  I have to admit this book I hated Lily-Anna and thought come on, Pandora - wake the f-up this lady is crazy and wants your child and your life. Of course, by the time, Dexter and Emilian finally find Pandora she has given birth and Lily-Anna has escaped with her son Reign. The book then has Pandora returning and having PPD which is fair enough but they can't handle it and they think their way to get her to snap out of it is to continue to abuse her and treat her like dirt - seriously WTF.  Six years later, she has two more children to Dexter and we can see once she is reunited with Reign - who his father is. It's all about the eyes and Pandora has also made a first step in abolishing the rules of Firstborn in Eden Falls. I was in two minds about this book as I hated the fact that despite being married to Dexter and having two more of his children - he still treated her like a toy and she accepted it. HELLO, seriously - this pissed me off as it's like she has the power yet she is still treated like a plaything and something you find at the bottom of a shoe - really if anything being in Eden Falls missed with her thinking to think this is ok. Overall, this series is a messed up, dark, and twisted sadistic bullymance series and it is good but will leave you feeling split as you want to love it but hate it at the same time.
