Review: Ride or Die - Gail-Agnes Musikavanhu - June 2023

Growing up, Lolli and Ryan have been the best of friends and get into mischief and mayhem together. Nothing could separate them as where there is one, the other is not that far behind. That is until Lolli throws a party at her ex-boyfriend's to retrieve a necklace that her ex had given to someone else. While searching for the necklace in the dark closet Lolli meets a random person in the closet who she nicknames as Mysterious Voice. Over the main course of the novel, the pair start this friendship of being anonymous and giving each other fun puzzles and challenges to make their lives a bit more exciting. It starts innocent fun but soon feelings start to be created especially when the ante starts to heat up. When the real identities are revealed, will they both move forward or will the other be shocked to see the identity of the other? What will happen to Lolli's other friendships as she becomes so involved with the game and her own life, she fails to see what is happening to her best friend Ryan who is going through something that developed after the party and some hard truths will be spoken between the pair which shows Lolli that she is a selfish friend and has taken everything for granted. With this news and feeling alone, will she take the Mysterious Voice's suggestion and run away together and create their own "Bonnie and Clyde" tale? Find out in this fun action-packed, Cinderella story-type YA Thriller "Ride or Die" by Gail-Agnes Musikavanhu.
