Three Perfect Liars

Review: Three Perfect Liars - Heidi Perks - March 2020

This was a good thriller, a bit of a slow burn but once it got exciting and the pieces fell into place it turned out a good book. It reminded me of Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. The book starts with a fire happening in a local office firm, then the book jumps back a few months prior leading up to the fire and we meet our first of the three females - Laura, who has been away on maternity leave for the past six months and returning to work today assuming everything will be the same. She is for a surprise as the replacement she hired temporarily Mia is still here and now Harry has offered her a permanent job. Mia also has most of Laura's accounts and this makes Laura feel like she is being pushed out of her job, feeling threatened Laura will start to investigate Mia as it becomes her obsession. However, if Laura isn't careful her obsession with Mia may be her downfall making her lose not only her career but also her family. Our second female is Mia who started as a temp but after six months is still here and even more determined to bring down those who played a role in harming her sister Jessica, but the big question is - how is this company connected and who is she targeting for hurting her sister? The last female is Janie who is the boss's wife. Five years, ago Janie was a lawyer and living the fast track life until a man we know only as Miles Morgan came into her life and tipped it upside down. She has been running away from that name for the past five years but now he is back in her town.  The three big questions throughout this book are A) who is Mia ?, B) Who started the fire and C) who came out in the body bag? I am now looking forward to trying Heidi Perks book "The Whispers" and as I said at the beginning, fans of Big Little Lies will love Three Perfect Liars.
